Previously published materials demonstrate that 80% of foreign bodies pass spontaneously through the gastrointestinal digestive tract without any harm to the child’s health, while 20% require endoscopic and/or surgical intervention, since delay in treatment can cause serious life-threatening complications. The present review discusses prevalence of foreign body ingestion in children. It also describes in detail controversial aspects of current diagnostic and treatment modalities.</p>
В настоящем обзоре представлена подробная характеристика наиболее часто встречаемых инородных тел ЖКТ у детей, их распространенность, а также проблемные вопросы методов диагностики и лечения.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>foreign body ingestion</kwd><kwd>gastrointestinal tract</kwd><kwd>bowel perforation</kwd><kwd>magnets</kwd><kwd>bezoars</kwd><kwd>children</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>инородное тело</kwd><kwd>желудочно-кишечный тракт</kwd><kwd>перфорация кишечника</kwd><kwd>магнитные инородные тела</kwd><kwd>безоары</kwd><kwd>дети</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Веселый С. В.
