The massive liver resection in children is executed very seldom. The article analyzes the clinical cases of six patients aged from 3 to 14 years with benign and malignant volume neoplasm of the liver. Material and methods. Diagnosis is laborious enough and requires both, the application of routine methods and highly specialized equipment. All children underwent a typical or atypical liver resection through open access, using modern surgical techniques. Results. The length of hospitalization averaged 39 days. Postoperative complications, like bile duct damage, occurred in two cases. One child had a hematoma at the site of the operation. Conclusion. Extensive liver resections in children refer to comprehensive high-tech surgical interventions, in which the main complication is damaging of the bile duct. The early detection of complications contributes to the favorable course of the postoperative period.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Введение. Раннее выявление осложнений способствует благоприятному течению послеоперационного периода.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>liver</kwd><kwd>liver resections in children</kwd><kwd>children</kwd><kwd>bile duct injury</kwd><kwd>biliary anastomosis</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>печень</kwd><kwd>резекция печени у детей</kwd><kwd>дети</kwd><kwd>повреждение холедоха</kwd><kwd>холедохо-холедохоанастомоз</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Beard R.E., Wang Y., Khan S., Marsh W., Tsung A., Geller D.A.
