Abstract

The first edition of the clinical guidelines on anterior abdominal wall hernias, developed by specialists of the Russian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, contains information on the diagnosis and treatment of the disease based on data from domestic and international clinical trials, including systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The clinical recommendations note the role of ultrasound examination of the scrotum organs in the diagnosis of inguinal hernia, with questionable data from a clinical examination of a child. The criteria and indications for emergency and conservative treatment of a pinched inguinal hernia are described. It is noted that despite the fact that the only effective method of treating inguinal hernias is surgical treatment, the essence of which in oblique hernias is to disconnect the communication of the vaginal process of the peritoneum, which is essentially the hernial sac, with the abdominal cavity, to prevent the abdominal organs from exiting the abdominal wall, the choice of a method of surgical treatment of inguinal hernia The child's condition is determined by the surgical team and the possibility of medical organization. In addition to inguinal hernia, the presented clinical guidelines describe the main approaches in the diagnosis and treatment of umbilical hernia and hernia of the white line of the abdomen
