The journal was founded in 1997 by Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Yu.F. Isakov  whose name is on the journal’s  cover.  Since 2016, the Editor-in-Chief of the journal has been  Professor Leonid  M. Roshal. The Editorial Board of the journal - since its foundation and up to now -  consists of  leading scientists of Russia  who took part at the journal’s foundation and currently  continue  and develop the school of Russian pediatric surgery.
